Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy that supports the ASU System’s mission, vision, and goals.
- Serve as a key advisor to System leadership on IT matters, emerging technologies, and innovation opportunities.
- Promote collaboration among ASU System campuses to leverage technology resources, reduce duplication and increase efficiency and effectiveness in enterprise level functions.
Operational Management
- Oversee systemwide IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, data centers, and telecommunications.
- Ensure business continuity, disaster recovery, and security protocols are implemented and maintained.
- Oversee service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure uptime, performance, and scalability of critical IT systems.
- Lead enterprise system integrations, upgrades, and migration initiatives across institutions.
- Assist in evaluation of institutional software needs.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Establish and maintain an effective integrated cybersecurity program across the ASU System.
- Ensure system wide compliance with federal and state regulations (e.g., FERPA, GLBA, PCI-DSS) and industry best practices.
- Coordinate cyber incident response across all institutions.
Data & Analytics
- Advance systemwide data governance practices, ensuring high-quality, secure and accessible date for decision making.
- Improve access to actionable institutional data for decision-making and strategic planning.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Build and lead a high-performing IT team, fostering professional development and collaborations with System and institutional personnel.
- Coordinate with institutional leadership teams to support local needs while advancing enterprise level efficiencies.
- Serve as the System’s primary representative for technology with external partners, vendors, and agencies.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, including cost-benefit analysis and ROI assessment.
