Arkansas State University System Excels in Fall Enrollment With 4% Increase
Arkansas State University System President Chuck Welch today announced a 4 percent increase in systemwide enrollment with a record 24,104 students this fall. Welch told members of the ASU Board of Trustees at its meeting that system institutions also showed a 2 percent gain in full-time equivalent students.
ASU-Beebe Plans 50th Anniversary Celebration of Searcy Campus

Welch Appoints Doug Whitlock as A-State Interim Chancellor
Arkansas State University System President Charles L. Welch today named Dr. Doug Whitlock, President Emeritus of Eastern Kentucky University, to serve as interim chancellor of Arkansas State University effective Sept. 12. Whitlock, 73, has 45 years of higher education experience in administrative and teaching roles at Eastern Kentucky in Richmond and retired in 2013 after serving six years as president.
Grant Awarded to ASU Mid-South, Community College Partners for Workforce Training

Dr. Tim Hudson resigned Tuesday, effective immediately, as chancellor of Arkansas State University after four years of service on the Jonesboro campus. Dr. Charles Welch, president of the ASU System, said he accepted Hudson’s resignation Tuesday evening. Welch named Dr. Lynita Cooksey, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Research at A-State, as the acting chancellor.
