A-State ‘Helmets and Heels’ Event in Little Rock Features Veteran NFL Official Walt Coleman

LITTLE ROCK -- Veteran National Football League official Walt Coleman will be the guest speaker at the “Central Arkansas Helmets and Heels” event for Arkansas State University football fans on Thursday, Aug. 4, in Little Rock.

The free event will be held at the ASU System Office, 501 Woodlane St., from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Helmets and Heels features “food, fun and football fan basics for the ladies in Central Arkansas” and surprise guests, according to organizers Julie Bates and Mandy Welch. Red Wolves apparel and gifts will be available for sale.

Walt-Coleman

Coleman, a Little Rock resident and fifth-generation family operator of Coleman Dairy, has officiated in the NFL since 1989. He was a line judge for six seasons before being promoted to referee at the start of the 1995 NFL season. He’s easily recognized by his Southern drawl during NFL broadcasts and is best known for officiating the “Tuck Rule Game” in 2002.
