ASU Board Approves Red Wolves Foundation Lease Agreement

01/28/2015

LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas State University Board of Trustees today approved lease agreements between Arkansas State and the Red Wolves Foundation related to construction and use of the press box at Centennial Bank Stadium in Jonesboro.

ASU President Dr. Charles Welch said that the leases would enable the foundation to secure additional financing for the 40,000-square foot press box and concourse expansion. The new facility replaces a 7,120-square-foot press box and will include 20 suites, all of which have been sold, and will open in time for the 2015 football season.

“The university has to provide a lease agreement to utilize the space and complete the construction,” Welch said. “This is really just checking a box for a formal lease that is required. Construction is coming along beautifully.”

The ASU System serves 20,800 students throughout Arkansas and includes Arkansas State University, a four-year research institution in Jonesboro; ASU-Beebe, with additional campuses in Heber Springs and Searcy; ASU-Newport, with additional campuses in Jonesboro and Marked Tree; ASU-Mountain Home; and instructional sites in Paragould and at the Little Rock Air Force Base.
