ASU System Executive Appointed Negotiator on Key U.S. Department of Education Committee
The U.S. Department of Education has selected Arkansas State University System Vice President for Strategic Research Eric Atchison to serve as a primary negotiator on the Accountability in Higher Education and Access through Demand-Driven Workforce Pell (AHEAD) Committee. The AHEAD Committee members will advise the department on several key areas created by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (Public Law 119-21) related to financial aid and specifically the new Workforce Pell Grant program.
RESTORE Hub at A-State Awarded $2 Million Grant for Statewide Center, ASUMH Partnership
Arkansas State University has been awarded approximately $2 million in funding over the next five years from the Office of Postsecondary Education, a subdivision of the U.S. Department of Education, to establish a statewide coordinating center for Inclusive Postsecondary Education (IPSE) programs and expand IPSE programs in Arkansas. Through partnerships with the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) and Arkansas State University-Mountain Home, the Restore Hub will launch a statewide initiative that expands access, strengthens institutional capacity, and increases workforce efforts at every level by building an IPSE program at each location.
